This week I’ve introduced some new books to my online shop. There are still some more left to add, but I thought I’d do a quick introduction, since this is what’s happening in the studio today.
These books are all one of a kind Starburst Journals! They make great journals and albums, as the design of the binding allows for the addition of paper ephemera or photos to some of the pages.

Today in the studio, not so much making things. It’s more of a planning and research kind of day, with a cup of tea, my notebook and a few implements (you can never have too many implements).
Organization and inspiration are two of my favourite things; Uppercase magazine has it all this issue! Spending the day inside, out of the cold rain and enjoying the beautiful pages of this magazine and getting excited for 2016.
The first newsletter of 2016 will be sent out tomorrow! If you haven’t subscribed yet, you have until tomorrow, 6am to get on it!!
I send my newsletters out via email, once a month. While content varies month to month, there’s always a list of upcoming workshops, shows and other goings on. Sometimes there’s even special surprises just for subscribers!!

The holidays are over so it’s back to work! But don’t worry, I don’t actually have a case of ‘The Mondays’*, I love my work! And I’m pretty excited about the plans I’ve made for this year, more to come soon! 
I’m also pretty pumped for all the good things that will happen that I don’t know about yet. What can I say, I’m one of those weird people who enjoys change and surprises!
In the meantime, I’m still wrapping up the details of 2015 on the business side of Sprouts Press. I’m reminded of some of my favourite pieces from last year, especially this wintry blue Fancy Journal! Perfect for one of the first real days of winter here in Toronto.
*If you don’t know what it means to have a case of ‘the mondays’, you need to watch the movie ‘Office Space’. Seriously, it’s hilarious.
Today the studio is quiet, as it has been for the last few days while I get some much needed R&R. It’s the time of year when I reflect on what 2015 was all about; what worked, what didn’t, and where I want to take this little company in 2016. 
I’ve got some big plans in the works and I can’t wait to share them with you as they unfold. But for now, I’m enjoying wintery walks, library books, ukulele-ing, and my favourite journals and pens.

Yesterday was my last bookbinding workshop for 2015! I’m so happy with the response these classes have received, and how eager people in learning to make their own handbound books!!With that in mind, I’m pleased to announce that there are some new workshops for 2016! I’ve kept everyone’s favourites and added a couple of new classes (and a new location!) to the roster. While you don’t have to have any prior bookbinding experience to take my classes, they are great chance to dust off your bookbinding skills and get a refresher in technique.
