Yes, you see this correctly. It’s August and I’m making Christmas ornaments! I’m telling myself it’s okay because it reminds me of frigid January days, on roasting hot August days.
While I always make these ornaments, this year I’m only making a small edition of them. That means if you want one, act quickly because when they’re gone, they’re gone! Keep an eye on my Etsy shop for them to be listed, most likely at the end of the month.
The last couple of weeks have been the start of holiday production time here at Sprouts Press. I talked about this a little while ago in this post. Today I’m making ornaments, thinking about the last time I made ornaments, which wasn’t for Christmas at all!
This is an ‘in progress’ shot of my Valentines Starburst Book Ornaments being made, with pages from Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet. I really enjoy pairing up appropriate literature to the holiday to make these decorations. Last year I used Dicken’s A Christmas Carol, which I plan to use again, but I’ll have an additional choice this year – stay tuned!
Don’t forget! There’s a sale in my Etsy shop happening right now!!
You may remember this post from last week, announcing the sale. Well, it’s still on, right till the end of July in fact! Time to stock up on holiday decorations and avoid the madness that is holiday shopping in december!
-Runs now until the end of the month, July 31, 2015.
-Discount is already applied, and offer is exclusively for items in the ‘Christmas in July Sale‘ section! Easy peasy!!
Day 272/365Lately I’ve been focusing my energy and creativity on custom orders for clients; wedding albums, guest books, anniversary memory books (paper is the traditional first year gift!) and special trip diaries. However, a little-known fact is that this is also prime time to get cracking on holiday products.
So I’ve slowly been brainstorming and jotting down ideas and diagrams for this year’s holiday collection, it’s going to be fantastic! I’m designing some new products and also expanding on previous ideas that I wasn’t quite finished with. I’m looking forward to sharing more with you as they develop into tangible objects!
If there’s a specific type of book that you’ve been wishing I would create, now’s the time to speak up! Leave a comment below or send me an email, I’m always happy to hear from you!
Happy Holidays, wishing everyone a great holiday season!
I’d like to thank everyone for their business, support and general awesomeness this year as I really pushed Sprouts Press to the next level. I love receiving your feedback so I can grow and learn and keep Sprouts Press flourishing! Keep it coming!!
I look forward to 2014, to designing and creating new items and journals (already have a few projects in the works!) and giving you more pen-to-paper options throughout the year!
Have a wonderful, happy and safe holiday!
Carolyn ~ Sprouts Press
Who doesn’t love a good book ornament? I started making these for myself, then friends and family, and then I finally realized I should be selling them. They’re now in my online shop.
Bonus: I’m teaching a book ornament making workshop later in the month! We won’t be making this style of ornament, but it will still be a lovely little book you can hang for the holidays or anytime of the year.
Yes, that’s right – I’m having a summertime sale in my Etsy shop! It starts today and runs till July 20, 2014!
There are lots of ways to save: you can use coupon code ETSYCIJ14 at checkout to get 15% off orders $40 and over. Or you can head to my all new Sale Section to get a deal on a new journal (and no, this section isn’t just the leftovers of days gone by, there are new items in there that haven’t been listed online before – YA!)
Last but not least, I know there are some of you that really enjoy my Starburst Book Ornaments. Since this sale is coinciding with the Etsy-wide ‘Christmas in July’ sale I’ve decided to bring them back for a limited time. You’re welcome, (and Merry Christmas? Is that said in July?) and get them while they’re still available.
