The Studio on a Sunday
If you’ve been following along, you know that April is a busy month for Sprouts Press. There are many shows and workshops happening, everyone seems to love journaling and sketching this time of the year.
So, today I’ve been working on a new batch of Adventure Journals, just for this month’s shows: Makeology and the Wayzgoose Book Arts Fair!! If you don’t know about these shows, just click the ‘Shows‘ tab along the top menu bar of my site to learn more.
Hope to see you soon!
Newsletter Sign Up Time!
Can you believe that spring has started and it’s almost April?! You know what that means: newsletter sign-up time!
This month is a big one, some really exciting news & announcements, *maybe* something special for subscribers (wink, wink) and a concise listing of upcoming events, workshops and general goings on of my little company.
As always, I only send one email per month. It’s a lot of work putting together a nice newsletter, I’d never waste all that energy and time on spam.
If you’re already a subscriber, expect the next newsletter on Monday. If you want to become a subscriber, just go here.

Sampler Bookbinding Workshop *NEW*
Good news for folks learning the craft of hand bookbinding with me: I’ve got a brand new workshop being offered at Graven Feather!
It’s a Sampler Workshop! This means I’ll be teaching three different bindings, and we’ll be focusing on the technique rather than making a ‘pretty’ finished project. I’ve chosen fairly straightforward, easy to remember bindings that lend themselves well to projects you might want to make on your own, at home. These are good bindings to help build your bookbinding repertoire.
The Studio on a Sunday
It might be Studio Sunday, but really I’m spending time with family.
I usually bake a nice, festive sweet bread to share with my family on Easter. But this year’s gluten-free, dairy-free, vegan version of chocolate babka is less than stellar (unless the goal is to be the most unedible). So instead I’m sharing a nice picture of some spring-like notebooks that are available in my Etsy shop!
I’ll be back next week with updates, announcements and something REALLY exciting you don’t want to miss!!! Happy Easter!
Countdown is on!
Here’s an exciting tidbit: Makeology Spring Craft Fair is less than one month away!! Mark your calendars, start your engines and prep for seriously awesome handmade goodness!!
I’ll be there as a vendor, selling my handbound books, journals, albums as well as my other book-related products (like bookbinding kits!). Also, I’ve got something special in the works, just for this show! It’s a series of journals that will be made only once, and available only at this show – stay tuned for details!
When: Saturday April 16 (one day only!) 11am – 6pm
Where: The Cotton Factory, 270 Sherman Ave. North, Hamilton
For more details and directions, please see the show’s webpage here.
