Summer School!

Summer (bookbinding) school classes have been going well this year!  If you missed last weekend’s class at the Art Gallery of Hamilton, don’t worry – there are more classes scheduled.

The next class is one of my most popular, it’s a one needle coptic binding, with a bit of a twist!  Read on for details.

Deconstructed & Reclaimed: From discard to journal

Learn how to craft your own hand-bound hardcover journal using discarded books. This workshop will introduce you to the tools of the trade, materials, and techniques to deconstruct a book and repurpose it into a new journal, using the Coptic stitch to bind the book.

When:  Sunday August 27, 2017  10am – 5pm
Where:  Canadian Bookbinders and Book Artists Guild, 180 Shaw St. #102, Toronto*

*New Location!

See You At the One of a Kind Show!

It’s that time of year, when I spend 11 days as a vendor at the One of a Kind Show here in Toronto.

I’ve got several new designs, old favourites and some brand new things this year!! (Like the Bookbinder’s Toolkits!). Find me at booth E34 this year. Stop by and say Hello, I always like chatting with fellow bibliophiles!

See you at the Midsummer Market!

Tomorrow is the Toronto Etsy Street Team’s spring/summer arts and crafts show!

Join us at the historic Campbell house, 160 Queen St. W, Toronto for a day of handmade goodness! Besides the awesome artist/artisan vendors, there will also be food vendors! There will be folks selling inside and outside, and a selection of free workshops!! (I’m delighted to be teaching a quick Intro to bookbinding!)

And, as always, there will be swag bags for the early birds!

Show runs Saturday June 18, 10am – 6pm.
